FATUM!: LA FUERZA DEL DESTINO
20th National Contest of Flamenco Arts in Cordoba

This year marks the quatercentenary of Spain-Japan exchanges and the bicenteary of Giuseppe Verdi's birth. In commemoration of these anniversaries, Shoji Kojima gives the world premiere of FATUM!: LA FUERZA DEL DESTINO inspired by Verdi's opera La forza del destino and Ziryab Danza's La fuerza del destino.

We consider the Verdi's opera the best piece to celebrate in Span his birth because it's based on Spanish playwright Duque de Rivas' play La fuerza del destino.

Francisco López has charge of the libretto and the direction, Javier Latorre is responsible for the choreography, and the flamenco music is composed and arranged by Chicuelo who has been Shoji Kojima's musical director since 1993. Kojima plays the part of Destiny, the leading character, and he is also the general producer of this project.

Along with Cristian Lozano and Hugo López, who performed in La Celestina, Sara Calero, ex-member of National Ballet of Spain, and young and energetic La Moneta are guest dancers.
